Resources

YATST offers a number of resources for member schools and others embarking on transformation work:

The Youth Voice Advocate Tool Kit is a compendium of activities to introduce a school community to 1) the work of YATST, 2) why schools need to change, and 3) what transformed schools look and sound like. This Took Kit, and companion Facilitator Guide are attached below.

The YATST Best Practices & Self-Assessment Tool provides a means to reflect on the presence of the "4 Rs" (rigor, relevance, relationships and shared responsibility) in a school.  A way to assess school readiness for YATST work is also included.

The Bibliography is a resource for individuals exploring 1) youth-adult partnerships, 2) action research, 3) youth involvement in school transformation.  You will find a basic bibliography.  An Annotated Bibliography is under development.

Web Site Recommendations is a listing of excellent sources for work around the country which is consistent with YATST underlying principles and practices (under development)

YATST Power Points to help YATST schools jumpstart your own school presentations. You will find the powerpoint shown at the recent November 12, 2010 School Transformation: Be the Buzz! state-wide conference and the more detailed powerpoint shared with the Vermont State Board of Education on November 16, 2010.

The YATST Curriculum Guide is a resource for YATST teachers and student co-facilitators to guide their work throughout the year, capturing both the training and activities offered at multi-school retreats, as well as many other aspects of implementing each phase of the action research process. This guide is found under the Curriculum Guide tab.
